Artificial intelligence continues to dominate the technology industry. This week, Amazon announced a massive $13 billion investment in AI infrastructure in India, expanding AWS data centre capacity in Mumbai and Hyderabad through 2030.

The race to build bigger and more powerful AI systems is creating huge demand for data centres and advanced hardware.

Another major development is the push into quantum computing. On 22 June 2026, President Trump signed two executive orders — one targeting the construction of a powerful quantum computer by 2028, and another directing federal systems to transition to post-quantum cryptography to defend against future cyber threats.

Experts believe quantum technology could eventually transform fields such as artificial intelligence, science, medicine, and materials research.

The semiconductor industry is also in the spotlight. AI chip startup Groq confirmed a $650 million raise this week, even after Nvidia licensed its core chip technology in a $20 billion deal. From cloud services to robotics and smart devices, advanced processors are becoming the foundation of modern technology. The next few years could reshape the entire digital landscape.
